Alibaba Provider

Provider name: alibaba

What It Does #

Alibaba is one of the image-generation providers that can power util_generate_image.

You send a prompt to the Discord MCP, Alibaba generates one image, and the Discord MCP returns a usable URL. If an uploader is configured, the Discord MCP may reupload the result before returning it.

What It Usually Needs #

At minimum, Alibaba needs:

  • token
  • model

In practice, a common setup is:

  • model configured once by the operator
  • token configured per app when needed
  • optional request-time overrides through headers such as X-Image-Model

If the required configuration is missing, util_generate_image stays hidden.

How It Is Selected #

Alibaba can be selected through:

  • X-Image-Provider
  • image_provider

Its credentials can also be supplied or persisted temporarily through:

  • X-Image-Token
  • X-Image-Persist

Request-Time Size Support #

Alibaba accepts the normal Discord MCP size argument.

  • Format: WxH
  • Allowed range: each value must be between 512 and 2048

If size is omitted, the Discord MCP leaves that part of the upstream request alone and Alibaba uses its own default behavior.

Important Notes #

  • the Discord MCP does not impose an allowlist on Alibaba model names
  • X-Image-Model replaces the configured model for the current request only
  • the Discord MCP translates the public size argument into Alibaba's upstream format automatically
