Reminder Tools

These tools let you schedule, list, and cancel reminder events. When a reminder fires, Dis.gg MCP delivers it to your application's event_webhook as a JSON payload.

Reminders require event_webhook to be configured in your app settings. When it is not set, these tools are hidden from the tool list.

util_schedule_reminder #

Schedule a reminder that fires after a delay or at a specific time.

  • Arguments:
  • delay_seconds (integer): how many seconds from now
  • fire_at (number): absolute UNIX timestamp in seconds
  • content (required): the reminder message (max 4096 characters)
  • channel_id or channel_name: target channel (defaults to the current channel when omitted; set to "0" for DM-only delivery)
  • user_id or user_name: target user (defaults to the current user)
  • guild_id or guild_name: optional guild scope for channel resolution

Provide either delay_seconds or fire_at, not both.

When channel_id is omitted, the reminder is delivered in the channel where it was scheduled. To send the reminder as a direct message instead, set channel_id to "0".

The response includes effective_channel_id so you can confirm where the reminder will be delivered.

Example with a relative delay (delivered in the current channel):

{
  "name": "util_schedule_reminder",
  "arguments": {
    "delay_seconds": 3600,
    "content": "Check on the deployment"
  }
}

Example with DM-only delivery:

{
  "name": "util_schedule_reminder",
  "arguments": {
    "delay_seconds": 600,
    "content": "Don't forget to review the PR",
    "channel_id": "0"
  }
}

util_list_channel_reminders #

List upcoming reminders for a channel, scoped to your application.

  • Arguments:
  • channel_id or channel_name (at least one required)
  • guild_id or guild_name (optional, helps resolve channel names)
{
  "name": "util_list_channel_reminders",
  "arguments": {
    "channel_id": "123456789012345678"
  }
}

util_list_user_reminders #

List upcoming reminders for a user, scoped to your application.

  • Arguments:
  • user_id or user_name (at least one required)
{
  "name": "util_list_user_reminders",
  "arguments": {
    "user_id": "123456789012345678"
  }
}

util_cancel_reminders #

Cancel one or more scheduled reminders by ID.

  • Arguments:
  • ids (required): array of reminder IDs (max 50)

The response tells you which IDs were cancelled and which were not found. Reminders belonging to other applications cannot be cancelled.

{
  "name": "util_cancel_reminders",
  "arguments": {
    "ids": ["rem_abc123def456"]
  }
}

Limits #

Reminders are subject to per-application, per-user, and per-channel limits. The operator can adjust these, but defaults are generous enough for typical use. If you hit a limit, the error response includes the current count and maximum.

The minimum delay is 5 minutes and the maximum is 5 years.
